Yesterday was a good day at Faith Lutheran--the energy level felt a bit higher, a few more people attending than we had in the slower summer Sundays.
I used the youth sermon to talk about the behavior of Jesus towards the Canaanite woman, the way we see Jesus at his most human, the hard parts of being human, the way humans get grumpy and tired and don't always treat each other well--but the way we can course correct in real time, just like Jesus did.
I was happy with how my adult sermon went, and happy about the last part of the last sentence, which wasn't in the manuscript: "to live into a future where everyone has a place at the table, not under the table."
