During last Sunday's sermon, our pastor kept coming back to the idea of worthy fruit. Can people see God in us? Are we producing fruits worthy of repentence?
I'm a poet, so I immediately started sketching some ideas:
grapefruits of honesty
watermelons of kindness
papayas of prayer
apples of loyalty
a million cherries of generosity
pears of rootedness
pomegranate seeds of justice
mangoes of charity
I could go on this way for a very long time. What would Christianity be without fruit metaphors?
